Sixth Core Element of Health

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." "Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work." The sixth element of health is labor.

Replenishing and subduing the earth, as well as having dominion over every moving, living thing requires physical labor. Some would use the words exercise or work as the title for this element, but exercise can be selfish, not fitting to follow love, and work, as a term used today, may not actually require physical labor. This is one thing that the animals are not commanded to do.

There are many forms of labor. Labor has the best effect when it is uplifting both to the body as well as to the spirit. Now, even though I'm not a fan of the term exercise as the title of this element, it is essential and the principles all apply to labor. Labor includes aerobic and anaerobic exercise. It includes enjoying or finding satisfaction in those things that you do. And it includes doing those things necessary to provide for the relationships that we have formed.

This also includes being self-reliant, both individually and collectively. This involves requiring of others less than we require of ourselves, using less than we make, creating a surplus and being able to provide for others outside of our selves, families, companies and communities.

Money is symbolic of labor performed. It is unhealthy to separate the two. The financial situation of an individual will have an effect on health. If it is unbalanced with labor or not supplying needs, this will have a negative effect on health. Or, if there is enough, what is had is used wisely and there is a surplus to provide for others, this will have a positive effect on health.
