First Core Element of Health
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
In the beginning intelligence was without form and void. And God organized some of the intelligence into spirits. These spirits are His children. And God separated His children who sought after light from those who sought after darkness. His children who sought after light were sent to earth to be clothed with a physical body. And the light and knowledge had by the spirit was separated from the darkness and lack of knowledge had by the body. Our spirit in connection with our body is the first element of our health.
There is little known about the characteristics of our spirits. One reason for that is that the physical body is not fully in tuned with the spiritual body. Another is that separation of knowledge which puts a veil between our physical bodies and the knowledge had by our spirits. For this reason our memories of life before birth are forgotten.
Of what is known, we can say that we could not make physical sound. Communication is felt more than heard and is done in a spiritual way that takes practice tuning into it because it is not a physical feeling. Our sight was different but we don't know how, except that we could see more or at least we could see other spirits. We could not feel in the sense that touch was not possible. We were not bound to the limits of our person, meaning only that we could pass through physical and spiritual objects. Taste and smell did not exist. We had fewer bounds and limits but much less potential to progress, understand or do.
With a physical body we have the five senses. But, far above that, we have a well-defined structure and functions which go down to the fundamental unit of life - the cell. All of its characteristics are inherited from a father and a mother. We are influenced by our pre-determined structure including DNA (genes) and other organelles. The qualities that we have, as well as all living animals, are that of a structure, (in our case, one with eleven organ systems that function together as one), development, digestion, regulation, reproduction and movement.
We are also influenced by the environment in the womb, as well as our family environment and everything that came with that. The environment can shape the body's ability to perform its proper functions to the point that it enhances or diminishes our chance for optimum health. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the parents to do their best to provide that environment which enhances their children's optimum health.
As children of God we inherited the ability to choose. And, although we do not remember our life as a spirit, we all know that we have this ability. In most cases this ability is not completely halted by defective genes or a negative environment. This characteristic has little to do with our initial physical body and environment, but has everything to do with our spirit and body working together to create our optimum health.
These three factors, nature, nurture and choice, work together to determine the quality of our health. Our choices can more powerfully affect the quality of our health, in applying the remaining core elements, than either nature or nurture.
