The Sea Glass Horse
When I was a young child, I remember traveling around the state of New Hampshire and visiting different churches on Sundays. Most of these churches were not in regular church buildings but in rented facilities. My dad was a stake high counselor, which means he was a high priest with an assignment to preach to these congregations. While I was way too young to remember what he said, I remember him repeating over and over again the phrase - a broken heart and a contrite spirit. For years, I couldn't understand what this phrase meant; and, while we read scriptures as a family daily, there was no explanation to help connect these terms to the real world.
