The Process of Repentance (Revisited)

This post is not replacing the previous post on The Process of Repentance . The intention of this post is to rewrite the process as an alliteration. I was in Sunday School a few months ago and the teacher asked me to list the steps in the process of repentance. This was an easy question because I have it memorized. But as I was thinking I wondered if I could write the process with only words that start with 'R'. I found that I was able to do this. Here is the result: 1 Recognize - Recognition of sin 2 Regret - Sorrow for sin 3 Remove - Abandonment of sin 4 Report - Confession of sin 5 Restore - Restitution for sin 6 Replace - Obedience to all the commandments 7 Remit - Forgiveness for sin The only thing that I want to touch on here is going back to my post on Remission . Remission is only brought about through baptism by proper authority. Baptism is symbolic of Christ and his atoning sacrifice. Seven of the Month - November 2010

As I was reviewing last April's General Conference, I listened to Elder Eyring's talk called Act in All Diligence . At the end of his talk I noticed that he gave some counsel, or in other words commandments, which sounded like a list. As I reviewed it I noticed that there were seven elements to the list, and I came to notice that this list of seven elements fits perfectly into the seven structure that I have all over my blog. So here is the counsel. I hope all of you will consider this counsel as a commandment and follow it as such. Counsel to the Lord’s Priesthood Servants 1) Ponder deeply and diligently in the scriptures and in the words of living prophets. 2) Persist in prayer for the Holy Ghost to reveal to you the nature of God the Father and His Beloved Son. 3) Plead that the Spirit will show you what the Lord wants you to do. 4) Plan to do it. 5) Promise Him to obey. 6) Act with determination until you have done what He asked. 7) And then pray to give thanks fo...
